Planets in Transit by Robert Hand

This book was recommended to me by Mary, my astrology teacher. Assuming you already know a bit about your birth chart, and are ready to start tackling a personalized horoscope, this is the book you require. Robert Hand writes lucid, philosophical and generally comforting descriptions of what you can expect when the planets transit above you and affect your personal cosmology. In the book reviews of this classic over at Amazon.com everyone mentions how they've been using it for years and their copy is worn and beat up. As an encyclopedia of planetary transits, this made sense the first time I opened it. Flip, flip, flip, that's what it is about. After flipping for awhile, with your transits balanced on your knee (I get these from some of the astrology software available online), somehow certain things begin to make sense, and the bigger picture becomes clear.
