Here's a cd from a Dutch vocalist, who has surrounded herself with very good musicians and created a classy production. I'm of Dutch origin myself, so I can appreciate the effort she has likely gone through to sing in English without any trace of an accent. The embouchure just isn't the same!

That said, I have to admit that my favourite track here is one that Masha performs in French. She doesn't have a big voice, and her wistful tone seems particularly well suited to Jacques Brel's "La Chanson des Vieux Amants".

Her repertoire is eclectic and includes a pop tune by Kate Bush, which is performed as a jazz piece. The whole package adds up to something that is hip and original, and just a little more chic than much of what is created this side of the ocean. Oops, a bit of my Euro-snob showing here, but it's true!
