The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers

Uh, its okay, what. Depiction of an awkward summer, a coming-of-age-thing, a pre-teen in the American South in the 1940s. Some nice treatment of the friendship between the cook, the heroine and her six year-old cousin. But I wouldn't fall all over myself trying to get copies of other work by McCullers. In my hysterical opinion, Harper Lee's Scout has it all over Carson McCullers' Frankie.
