 Healing with Astrology

Healing with Astrology by Marcia Starck

I was surprised and happy to discover that such a thing as medical astrology existed and when I did some research found a few websites and books that were all rather frightening and negative, using astrology to predict illness, disease and disaster etc. So I ordered this book entirely because the word "healing" was in the title, which seemed vastly more promising and optimistic.

And it is an optimistic, helpful book. Now, if you don't know anything about astrology, this might be dull, because you do need a certain amount of info before you can get into it. And I suspect that if you do know tons about astrology, you'd get much more out of it than I do. I sat squinting at astrological charts my computer spits out for me and then rustled through the pages, trying to identify trouble spots, weaknesses, strengths. My favourite section is where she lists which elements, vitamins and minerals, are ruled by which planets. This is a quick little encyclopaedia on a lot of alternative therapies - herbs, crystals, sound, colour, flower essences. It is a good guide to give you a portrait of a body based on astrology. Cool, non? Well, I've tried it out on friends and family, and so far, it all makes a lot of sense. Off to go wolf down some more kelp - got that Neptune retrograde, dontcha know.
