Curriculum Vitae by Muriel Spark
Curriculum Vitae is the autobiography of a very good writer, so how can anyone complain? I'm always looking for bios of any kind by authors, playwrights etc, and my only gripe with this one is that it was too short. Her memories of childhood are wonderful, mostly due to her delivery. She vagues-out a bit as she gets older. My guess is she began to get bored or it was all still too close to her. Or she just had a general unwillingness to admit she was sleeping with her boyfriend during the WWII years. I dunno. Good stuff on the real Miss Jean Brodie too, for those that may care.
